The time for real work and real change begins

MCA election is over.

To my comrades, friends, supporters and everyone from this virtual network, I sincerely thank you for the words of encouragement and support.

My achievement in winning the MCA deputy presidency has been a most humbling experience in that it comes with the responsibility of carrying the hopes of all MCA members in rejuvenating our party.

While we must close ranks and come together after a most competitive campaign, all of the winning candidates must remember what was promised to the grassroots and to the delegates.

We must be their agent of change in the party and in the country. We must bring about the real change desired of the party.

The members have spoken. The message is loud and clear. They have rejected empire building. They have rejected a weak leadership. They want a more vocal leadership. The members want to have an equal say in how the Barisan Nasional government is administered. We are not here to challenge Umno, but we must become partners again in governance.

I pledge to set aside all differences and work closely with all the members of the senior leadership, including the newly elected president Datuk Ong Tee Keat. I want to make one thing clear. The real work lies ahead. The MCA must strive towards giving a greater voice not just to the Chinese community but to all ordinary Malaysians.

We must work hard to change the negative perception a substantial number in the Chinese community have of us. We cannot just change MCA but also work to reform BN.

We must work hard to bring about the kind of reforms necessary to regain support from all Malaysians not just for MCA but for BN as a real multi-racial coalition which represents all Malaysians regardless of race and creed.

We must become a real political party again to make real political changes within BN. That is what the people of Malaysia demand. They want better and cleaner governance. We must start by ensuring all of the MCA's ministers run the most efficient and most effective ministries.

In these economically trying times, Malaysians want to see a government that works for them. We in the MCA must being the forefront of ensuring an efficient and effective government.

The time for politics is over. The time for real work and for real change begins.

Meanwhile, I will be off from blogging for 2 weeks. I need time to recharge my battery.

In staying on in BN and MCA, you support:
1. Racists and bullying policies of your partner UMNO - The continued oppression of racial minorities in this country
2. The destruction of justice system through ISA detentions and slanted judiciary by UMNO
3. Rampant and obvious corruption including your own president's por klang free zone

You have voiced out but UMNO just ignores you and tells you to go to hell. So, by continuing in this useless struggle, you indirectly support and encourage them.

渴望两周后,
见到的拿督斯里是不仅是充满电的干电池,
而是一位冲满无限电力的发电机。

马华,巫统,国阵
的确需要如您般有魄力的领袖,

Dr. Chua, Congratulations on your recent success in obtaining the Deputy Presidency in MCA. Indeed it is a great achievement, especially after the sex video clip scandal; and the wide-spread circulation of this episode.

Yes, now the real work begings. Hopefully, your President will recommend you for a Ministerial post to reinforce the voice of MCA at Cabinet level. It si a fact of life that the winner in any contets will taste the fruits of labour!

Now that you have won, it is heavy responsibility to shoulder. Upon your shoulders rest the aspirations of MCA members in particular and the people in general. You have to show by ACTIONS, not just sounds, that you will carry out your pledge to MCA members.

CHANGE or be changed! REFORM or be DEFORMED! Take your pick!

Best regards.

After Mar 8 GE ended, many generals lost in their battle but was re-admitted to the cabinet via backdoor by non-other than Badawi himself.

Now, after MCA election has ended, it has been rumoured that OTK & gang are trying to re-admit some lost generals back into the frontline via backdoor.

What are you going to do about it?
Are you going to be a yes-man deputy or are you prepared to lock horns with your leader?

Dr. Chua,

Can you please ensure that the BN government dont put up a bill board that says "another project by BN government"

It will be unimaginable that in US a bill board is up to say "another project by Republican government"

Why MCA does not support the ISA debate in Parliament?

Real work and real change???

I do not want to make any further comment at this moment , lets see how you fulfill your promise, I still insist that DVD issues is not just a personal affair but one of the social problem that need to be addressed , it is your responsibility to educate the general public.

If you are too energetic does not mean you have to involve yourself in affair outside marriage this is not a good excuse, you can also play badminton ,football ,computer game or involve yourself community work like GOTONG ROYONG.

GUAN TI(关云) of HAN DYNASTY was much more energetic than you , but he avoided himself from making mistake by reading CHUN QIU (春秋) throughout the whole night and
Was respected highly by CAO CAO. Why couldn’t you learnt from GUAN
TI of HAN DYNASY

Congratulation,i am a strong believer that however devious or powerful a person is he/she "cannot keep a great man down for long" MCA has to change to meet the expectation of the young educated, well inform, idealistic, cosmopolitan voters of today...MCA hopefully through your good self would notonly champion for the Chinese but champion "freedom, transparency, rights, equality in opportunity, meritrocracy ,productivity, efficiency and a clean society" for all Malaysians irrespective of race, color and religion... failing to do this would eventually leave MCA as a "has been party" like UMNO and the eventual demise of the party...I believe you be able to leave a strong positive legacy...

1. Congrat to you on becoming d new deputy president of MCA.

2. All Malaysian Chinese are watching and see whether d new leadership can deliver what they preached.

3. If MCA leaders put getting a minister post as their priority and goal then they are selling off their race and their ancestors.

4. Whether MCA will vanished or not depends on the present leadership. No second chance.

5. My best wishes to MCA and all the elected leaders.

I am glad that Dr. won in the campaign. Me as the new generation of Malaysia would really hope MCA has the real stand and work together with all MPs include the one from opposition to abolish the ISA and restore our economic together.
Why don't even has a single MCA MPs dare to sign the petition/memo to make the ISA being debate at parliament? Guts or Balls problem from the BN?
Maybe Dr. should really clarify Dr.'s stand for the ISA before represent MCA on this issue.

I really hope MCA dare to speak out against all(PR or BN) to protect the benefits of all Malaysians!

Hi Dato',

Saya amat berbangga mempunyai saudara Chinese mcm Dato'.

Wish you all the best!

Yes, MCA is expected to be seen an effective and efficient teamwork, importantly put aside all kind of differences (if any) and unite all members and leaders, at all levels, work hard for the country.

The standard of the PR leaders is far behind those in MCA and Gerakan, but just that BN parties prefer "mouth war"...??!! This must be recritied immediately.

I have confidence in both MCA and Gerakan, those who can really and practically do something good for the country.

On 15th September you said, " The opposition parties have for years been using the repeal of the ISA as a rallying cry. Perhaps it is time for us in BN to seize the initiative once and for all and review the ISA. This will show the people that we have a government which listens to them.

The ISA can be replaced with some other legislation which offers protection against abuse and which allows judicial review."

Since you are now No 2, please prevail upon the MCXA and your MPs to publicly support YB Lim Kit Siang's endeavours to have the repeal of the ISA debated in the House. You and the MCA must not keep quiet anymore and must make a stand even if it would not be approved by UMNO. Show us that there is now a different MCA which is no more a lap dog to UMNO.

Congrates to you Dr. Chua!

Do MCA have the guts to tell "UMNO" to abolish the ISA?

I believe you are great leader, but how far u can bring us go. What I see from Selangor government that Khalid dare to appoint an non-malay to lead the PKNS that lead to lots of protest within the selangor government itself. CAN MCA make the first step by calling ISA being abolished and review the EUROHELICOPTER project that is in the great interest of people.

It is unfair to direct the question to you over here as u are not president of MCA.

Just show Malaysians that MCA are fighting for all Malaysians rather than just Mr. Yes to UMNO and "shout loudly at the MCA AGM that want to debate about the ISA"

Please direct this to "WEI JIA XIANG", do he got the guts to raise the ISA issues at the cabinet meeting? If he do it, i will respect him, else shut up! AND STOP TELLING US, WILL BRING THE ISSUE TO DISCUSS WITHIN THE BN! cock... after 308GE, still don't understand WE NOT BUY THIS WAY! Ong Ka Chuan back the idea of INTERNAL DISCUSSION with BN will solve the problem, that I think affect the result MCA election as well. Please wake up !
