Questioning PAS’s motive

I must congratulate and support the Sultan of Selangor for coming down hard on the state PAS Youth who protested against 2 artistes performing at the Selangor Cup matches between Selangor and Singapore. This is one example where ruler still has the role to play in a democratic society which is a multi-racial country. Nobody including PAS can impose Islamic value and others social values on other races. I hope it would serves as a warning to other Muslim leader not only from PAS but including UMNO who wanted to impose their Muslim value on other races.

Of course from this incident, as I have always said we should always be suspicious of the PAS leaders because even at the state level where they have no control over the Federal Government but are eagerly imposing their Islamic value to everyone, what’s more if PAS becomes the government at the Federal level?

So we hope the non Muslim should wake up to the political reality that we faced when PAS really comes into power at the Federal level.

Dr, Not only are we to be suspicious of PAS intentions but also unmo. This muslim extremist are only interested to advance their cause. These power mad guys never advocate tolerance, democracy and human rights.Their style of getting done is only by force. How on earth can they hold their heads high and claim to be part of the civilized world if it condones the practice of discriminating against other race!So that is why I insist MCA must use our leverage and our position in BM to force umno to respect out rights as a Malaysian not as MIGRANTS.

The political reality is that I can see Dr Chua still playing this fear mentality on the Chinese. Yes PAS Islamic ideals are not coherent with our secular administration. But again, reality is that PAS will never win Federal by itself. Not even UMNO is capable of forming the govt on its own. Why Soi Lek keep harping on this fact, when he should better use his time to strengthen MCA or do some charity work like on last weekend. As much we do not like PAS, but we need to respect them. PAS didnt commit a crime like losing billions of dollars in bailouts and corruption. BN is.

As the name suggest PAS Youth. Youths are known to be doing things that doesn't go through register and all they are trying to do is to gain political points.
They are trying to show others that they dare to do things and hopefully get some respect that they have the balls.

I prefer to call them PAS Boys. Immature silly Boys.

Your should be shameful of your own recent sex video scandal. U have shown unprecedentedly bad example to all Malaysians regardless of ethnic or religious background. Why must you concern about PAS. At least PAS leaders are faithful to their religion and never thought of committing lewd acts like what u did! Come on Datuk Seri, shame on you !!!!

Datuk Seri,
Do you actually think UMNO is better than PAS? The way I see this is UMNO is trying very hard to outdo PAS in terms of Islamic fanatism, but where they are different from PAS is they are also extremely racist and corrupted. And MCA has been their most effective tool to silence the Chinese in their implementation of racist and discriminatory policies.

You should understand that when we the average Chinese citizens of Malaysia hear comments in the newspaper that says that Chinese leaders (ie MCA leaders) have accepted explanations or decisions from the UMNO leaders on issues that we don't accept, that's when you guys stopped representing the Chinese. In fact, MCA has failed to represent the Chinese when you kept quiet about so many issues where the non-Malays esp Chinese were very upset about like the UMNO keris wielding episode. If you are really representing the Chinese, then you need to show the people what you are indeed fighting hard to defend the rights of the Chinese people, especially with UMNO's continued propagation of their racist policies and show us the result!

In any case, you need to recognize that continuation of politics based on race is morally wrong and prevents unity among Rakyat. Daily emphasis of race by the BN component parties is the reason why Malaysia is in such a sorry state today. You just have to walk around the streets today and how many times will you actually see children of different races hang out together? None!!!

'One man's meat is another man's poison'
But we must never deny the 'one man' his choice of meat
'Another man' can likewise choose what he regards as 'non-poison'
So that 'one man' can still meet 'another man' over any meat

Dr, what choice as a Malaysia chinese has? DAP cannot get the support of Malay, it is not truely Malaysian. There are many questionable incidents (Judges appointment, BPR not effective, budget for chinese school, crime rate, GDP per capital, FDI ....)during BN's administration. Many of my relatives voted for PAS. If you still want to represent chinese, please focus on how to improve the current executive and implementation of projects.

Dr Chua, I think the issue is deeper than just PAS imposing values on non-Muslims. Read my post at www.jeremiahliang.blogspot.com. I think all parties should openly debate this issue with PAS as it concerns the future of Msia.

"Don't Let PAS Frame The Religious Debate"

Ideally, in any healthy democratic country, state and religion should be kept separate and this is enshrined in our constitution where we allow for the freedom of religious worship and belief. By implication, even atheists who believe in a materialistic world have a right to their beliefs as long as they do not harm others and themselves.

For the PAS youth leader to proclaim and presume that all Muslims subscribe to hudud laws is similar to the situation where, for instance, the Catholics in Malaysia were to make it a law that all Christians, including Prostestants like myself, wear the cross. While I am sure any power-wielding Catholic party is not so foolish as to do such a thing, I am using this as an example to show the tremendous problems of making religious values into laws for everyone.

Based on the latest controversy of PAS revealing its true colours, I think the best strategy is to counter a religious premise (hudud laws) with another religious premise (the freedom of every God-created person to love and worship God is a freedom that God grants out of a true, genuine love reminiscent of a father's unconditional love for his children).

Here is the deep deception which religious fanatics are trying to deceive all faithful Malaysian citizens: that the acceptance of secular law is an acceptance of godless laws, i.e a system of justice without god in the centre of judgement. This is false and against the spirit if not the letter of the constitution. We have to obey traffic laws and laws of commerce but if, you as a member of your religious fraternity, wish to conduct business according to your Syariah principles, well and good. Nobody is stopping you until and unless you impose your principles and laws on other people (who may be even more spiritual than you.)
In conclusion, leaders in the DAP and Keadilan have to intelligently engage PAS in this crucial debate. And all Malaysians have to deal with the root of this issue, which is not so much about secular laws versus religious laws.

Don’t let PAS frame the debate. The actual debate is essentially this: Should religious practices be imposed on people who do not share the same religious interpretations? If the answer is a resounding No!, then the next question is: Can the practice of religion (and the love of God) be the free will of its practitioners or is it best to enforce it through punishment and penalties?

Postcript: The only practical solution, as I see it for this country, is for a secular state and its basic laws to overide the draconian laws of any religious group. Even if 9 out 10 Muslims want to have hudud laws legislated in any state, the basic human rights of that minority single Muslim citizen should be protected by the law.

Come on gurumuda,
Stop being another hipocrite to praise the so-called PAS leaders who in reality are worst than common men on the street and they are the real devils in disguise. One thing, who are you to criticise Dr Chua for his personal sex life? What scandal? He is the victim of the political rivals who made it a scandal. To many who are rational, it's just a trap to kill him off politically. Don't judge a book by its cover. You would never know what actually are taking place in the life of these hipocritical PAS leaders and I'm sure they could even more disgusting than Dr Chua's incident. It's a known fact that these PAS skunks would always just act righteous, putting on their good-virtue masks and love displaying their holiness which obviously are so fake. They are the fanatical shits. 'Bagaikan ketam suruh anaknya berjalan lurus'. cheessse...Nak muntah lah!
