Speak But Not Heard

-------------------------------------
After I have resigned, I find difficulties in getting my message into the mainstream media. Chinese press is only interested in interviewing me about the forthcoming MCA election, but not on the current issue that affects the community. I try not to talk about MCA election since it is still 4 months away.

I have been invited as a panel speaker in a lot of political forum together with the Yang Berhormat from PR Coalition. Except the public forum with The Star and Sinchew Daily, the rest of the forums do not make it into the media. I have also officiated many functions organized by NGOs, in a same way; it did not make it to the press. In all these functions, I spoke about current affairs of the country, the emergence of 2 party system in Malaysia, the future direction of MCA, major economic issue such as fuel hike, inflation etc. Unfortunately, very little of this make it to the press.

I have said it before in Malaysia, when you are appointed as Minister today the media will pay attention although what your say is not news worthy. But if you resign as a Minister, you become invisible to the press, more so if what you have said is critical of MCA or BN leadership. As for criticism that is directed at MCA top leadership, there seems to be some unseen hand manipulating media contents so that it will not go public.

Therefore readers, please bear with me. It is not true that I am not articulating my thoughts in the main stream media, it just that I have less chance to get into the print media.

Dr,Now you know the real MCA.They have their hands in everything.so that's why you have to publicize your blog, get more hot issues regarding MCA so that when people want to comment about MCA they will go to your blog to get the message through. If you find it difficult in getting your message through then we as ordinary public find it even worst. That why now we rely on blogging.

Dr. Chua, you should resign from MCA and consider joining Pakatan Rakyat. If you listen to my advise, the rakyat will be giving you plenty of support. You can also count on the Chinese to support you. If you intend to remain in MCA then that is your biggest mistake as an experienced politician. You should know the feeling on the ground.

Dr Chua,
These unhidden hands had never been admitted by political parties who own the media. I doubt you will be against it if you were still a minister.
Despite the result of March 8, these political masters never learn

This is the internet age. You can no longer rely on the mainstream media to voice your thoughts. Through your blog you have an excellent medium to share your view and more importantly you can garner support for action that is in line with the malaysian's immediate interest. Alas, this has not been the case.

As a reader of your blog, i found it hard to see how the life of a chinese malaysian are being made better through what you have done so far. We are openly being marginalised but a many of our mca 'brothers' are standing with their hands down and stomach filled. What future do we chinese have in malaysia? Can't you see why we would jump to any opportunity of changes, like the one offered by the Pakatan Rakyat? Your reputation points out that you may be a possible saviour for us. Hope your future action can justify this.

Dr Chua, you are a good leader. This period of "exile" for you heartens me because I know you will be mindful of the community's best interests. But what is your position on whether MCA should be multiracial? I wrote something about this. Read here

Dear Dr. Chua,

I think this should be within your expectation. Moreover, MCA control some of the mainstream media. Everyone knows that, BN likes to hear good things rather than criticism, and the issue that you talk may not be the one that they want to hear. Too Bad!!!! However, you still have the blog to air your view which i think may get more people to read. Never mind, let them take control on the mainstream media and listen to what they like, then end of the road is near by for them. God bless......................

Dr, I hope you will seriously consider going for the MCA president post, only with that you can have your visions and party policies cut out. A man without a formal position in any organisation can only talk talk; who wants to listen to you?

After you are down from a minister position and an MCA VP to an ordinary person, you will have little or no media values, hence reduced or little coverage is something to be expected. You should have a wise man heart, big enough to accept and swallow your pride. There is nothing to feel sorry about.

Does this sound like advice or consolation to you? I am too small a person to do so; but I respect you for often speaking out the minds and feelings of the Chinese whenever you could in the past. We only did not see how you fought for us in the cabinet.

Dr, to see more, you have to climb up the mountain, and to achieve your aspirations, the coming MCA election is the mountain to climb. You should not be just keeping yourself in one small corner and venting out your frustration in a blog like this.

Dr Chua,
I have been reading your blog recently and noticed that there are not many comments as compare with others.
To get across your message to more audience/people,why not use facebook or other social networking software in your blog.

Agreed with William. Dr, your blog is becoming boring; there is no interaction; you post a comment, it take one to two days to be published, and at one go, you see 5-10 comments. Unlike other blogs, there are plenty of lively exchanges and even debates going on.

Pls do something.

Welcome to my Blog

As a concerned MCA member, I am trying my best to help in the process of rebuilding and repositioning of the party.

Therefore, I welcome party members and members of public to post your constructive suggestions and opinions on my blog on how to rebuild and reform the party, eventually enabling MCA to regain support from all party members and the community.

Thank you for your suggestions.
