I fully agree with you that it is difficult for the Party President to be out of the cabinet. We told Chinese to vote for MCA so that we could have Cabinet representation but when he, the President won in the election and did not go into Cabinet, then he has misled the Chinese. Maybe consolidating his power in the coming party election is more important than representing the Chinese in the cabinet.
When the party president wanted to rebuild the party, he should have been concentrating his time in the headquarters. He should have gone to states like Penang, Perak, Selangor, Kedah and Wilayah Persekutuan that have lost badly in the general election, Instead, he chose to go to Johor where there was 85% win in the general election.
Maybe, his priority is in winning the coming party election instead of winning the confidence of Chinese or maybe he wants to escape the reality and claim credit that his OWN presence in Johor will ensure that Johor will remain the fortress of MCA. Who knows MCA will ultimately have a President who is more concerned with party election, thus we may be a regional party confine to the south of Malaysia, that is Johor, Malacca and Pahang.
GOD BLESS THE PRESIDENT!

The MCA President opting to stay out of the new cabinet is the first step that MCA takes after its horrible performance in the recent GE. The President believes that as MCA fails to get a strong mandate from the Chinese, he can no longer rightfully represent the community in the cabinet. He therefore chooses to focus on party affairs to revitalize the party.
What is surprising is to see that the party leadership, led by the Deputy President, accepts the decision, although not without persuasion to the President to retract it, saying that they respect the president decision. So the decision, after all, is the party's decision.
The problem is it is hard for people to understand such a decision. The rationality and wisdom required of the party leader and leadership in making such a decision is nowhere to be seen.Perhaps we have been living in a very unhealthy political environment for too long, to the point that political leaders, particularly those in the governing position, always believe what they do is always right, it is other people or the voters who are always wrong, and they could not be bothered with the perception of the people.
Opting to stay out of the cabinet can be interpreted as the President believes that his presence in the cabinet is no longer representative of the Chinese wishes, if there are people who think he should not have stayed out, he should not be blamed, the fault lies on the Chinese, it is the Chinese who help create such a situation.
Let’s put aside the problems between MCA and the Chinese. As far as a political party is concerned, one cannot separate party affairs from political affairs. As a matter of fact, political affairs are the core business of a political party.
The crux of the matter here is, how can a party leader who opts to concentrate on party affairs, relegating the political affairs to second tier leaders, be able to lead the party effectively in flexing its political power and achieving its political ambitions?
It is hard to imagine the specific benefits that can result in strengthening the party if the President takes care of party affairs full time. Without attending to political affairs, the President has said, he can devote his energy and time to rebuild the party. If that be the reason, the question of a leader’s capability and stamina arises. Like it or not, under any circumstances, the leader of a political party must possess the required capability and stamina to execute party as well as political duties required of him.
In the present uncertainties, the UMNO President while taking on party affairs, has to take care of BN and shoulder the heaviest responsibility as the PM of the country. Just how convincing can it be to say it suffices to focus on party affairs?
Although there are 4 MCA ministers in the cabinet, one of them needs to be appointed as the MCA leader in the cabinet, to represent MCA in decision making. The President no longer represents MCA in the cabinet, and is merely a back bencher in the Parliament. Under such circumstances, just what is the political position and role of the President?
At the moment, other than the President, his deputy is apparently also taking care of part affairs only. Other than the MCA party leader and leadership, it is hard for anybody to see the rationale of the decision, and in what way it can positively help to further the political future of the party.
The party and its leadership can decide to do the rightful thing, but it will be left to the people to decide whether they agree or disagree with them.
In the next GE, if the President decides to return to the Kulai constituency, the people will decide whether they will cast a vote of confidence in a party President who opts to stay out of the cabinet. But before that, the MCA members will have to decide whether such a President will still be able to continue leading the party effectively.

I do not have any objection regarding OKT's decision.
I only disagree with him for appointing 4 new faces inside the new cabinet.
I do not think we will get any advantages or priorities when discussing the important issues during the meeting.
In fact, healthy politics don't work or hardly work in a non-healthy politic environments.
All the best....
Dear Dr. Chua,
Can you please keep us inform about the forum at Penang tonight as some of us from other states of Malaysia.
Thanks
Doc,
He cycles la... how do you expect him to reach Perak, Penang, Kedah and Selangor??? Johor itself is soooooo BIG... cycle around Kulai and Tg. Piai maybe la..
anyway... if you think he is wrong, you can challenge him. I am not an MCA member.. nor a DAP member nor a Gerakan member.. so I cant provide any support that is tangible to your quest but you have my ermmm... moral support.
-->We told Chinese to vote for MCA so that we could have Cabinet representation..
So? What kind of "reprensentation" you MCA people talk about? Bring the messenge down from "top" to us (chinese lar) and "force" us to accept? If this is so, then we are enough to have newspaper or TV. Why we need MCA?
Mr Chua
I have one humble suggestion, please take it openly even if you do not like it. Would you please consider to stop use "dr" title, this is because you have admitted to public (i saw in newspaper) that you have been stopped practicing medicine for a long times.
Dr Chua,
As far as you are concerned to me,you are a remarkable man. However, you are too much engaged in political matter and neglect lavishing yourself in decadent way of life. Thus,I suggest you to go to China with me next month and of course you got to bear all the traveling expenses as my financial is not so solid.
I know very well in China especially Dongguan and Shenzhen.I have been there several times and surely you won't get disappointed to visit.
The local food there is delicious especially their steamed rice.
We can go to the foot massage center to wash our toes and just relaxed. We can have full body massage too and the charge is very cheap.
If you wish to go with me,please let me know in advance so that I can prepare before hand.11th April 2008
It is a strategic move by the president to prempt the influence of Dr. Chua in Johor. Now, Dr. Chua's son is a MP and Dr. Chua is still a respected senior leader in MCA. If Dr. Chua stay quiet and fade away, thing will be nice. However, if Dr. Chua wants to challenge the President, thing will be different. First, what is the purpose of the challenge? Second, what will be its positive effect on MCA as a whole. Finally, how relevant will be MCA in Malaysia's pilitical landscape with a new President? It is better to look ahead and give party's new talents a greater responsibility.
we need a leader that can think for the future of MCA.
Act of passing the baton to relatives will only make RAKYAT believe that they are trying to make MCA their own party. This will only do more damages to the party.
How are all these leaders going to convince the RAKYAT that they really want to change?!?!
This is a difficult time for MCA and any component parties of BN. So, please do something that can win the people heart back.
MCA, You have another 4 more years to prove yourselves, oherwise you will become an opposition party.
Dear Dr. Chua,
I have few questions for you. Hope that you don't mind to answer me.
1.) As the rumour saying that you are making a come back to politic, and also going to challange the MCA president OKT for the upcoming party election. Is it true?
2.) If it is true and if you win the president post, what are your vision and mission for MCA after become the president?
3.) If it is true and if you win the president post how are you going to position the NEW MCA in BN and also in chinese community?
4.) Like what others suggestion, will there be a possiblity for all the parties in BN to form a ONE BN, rather than the current situation? Why?
Thank you very much only if you don't mind to share with your supporters.
quite interesting and amusing !
Albert 1951,Penang
都7老8老了,可以full retire 然后去tour the world.
最后contract stomach cancer and die.
要是你能看开点,生活就会很快乐的,try to be an ordinary folk, you will live happier.

Dear Albert 1951
Live and let live.
The world is definitely a more interesting place or more lively with different ideas and different people, like u and dr chua, around.
lohsh,
I agree with what you said.If everybody is like me philandering around with young women, our country will have no bright future ahead. We need an aggressive and brilliant politician like Dr Chua. What I actually want to say is that our lifespan is short and we mustn't take things too seriously.Since Dr Chua is feeling distraught and agitated by the recent malicious sex scandal,I am just offering him an advice to soothe his stress and asked him to go overseas with me.This will then alleviate his grief over this scandalous episode.
Obviously he has been trapped by his rival who is jealous of his success .And surely you can guess who is the culprit behind this political conspiracy.
Though he is not my friend, but I know he is a good guy. From his handsome face,he looks very sincere and not crooked type.He bites the bullet to apologize to public suggested that he is a brave old man!
